Galaxy S27’s Snapdragon chip gets teased as Qualcomm confirms two new flagships

Galaxy S27’s Snapdragon chip gets teased as Qualcomm confirms two new flagships

For many years, Samsung has been using Qualcomm’s flagship chipsets in its premium smartphones, including the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series. The South Korean tech giant is expected to follow the same strategy with its next flagship non-foldable mobile lineup, the Galaxy S27 series. It is expected to feature the American firm’s next flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

Now, Qualcomm appears to have started teasing the upcoming processor, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a toned-down version of the Pro model. If the two chips launch as expected, this will be the first time the brand will introduce two Snapdragon 8 Elite series chipsets in the same generation. The company has also revealed when they will be unveiled and hinted at their features.

Qualcomm has released a video that shows two chipsets and, among several other terms, mentions “Dual 8 Elites,” “Twice the options,” and “Opportunity doubled.” These phrases strongly suggest that the tech giant plans to launch not one but two Snapdragon 8 Elite series chipsets. The American firm says the chipsets will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit on September 22, 2026.

The teaser hints that the new processors will offer more powerful agentic AI capabilities, “new connectivity technologies,” “enhanced camera functionalities,” and “extraordinary GPU performance” for “immersive gaming experiences.” This suggests that the SoCs could feature a newer NPU, modem, and GPU. It may also have an upgraded CPU, as is typically the case with each new-generation Snapdragon flagship processor.
